The short answer
NotebookLM is excellent for understanding and researching a set of sources, and it is generous for free. SyncStudy is the better fit when you need to remember that material on a set date: scheduled flashcard reviews, graded practice, teach-back and a study plan.

It makes Audio and Video Overviews, reports, flashcards and quizzes, has a Learning Guide tutor mode and mobile apps. The free plan allows 100 notebooks with up to 50 sources each.
